Contributions To The Field
Mr. Stein co-founded the Tikun Olam Foundation in 2001 with his wife, Mindy. He
serves as President of this foundation whose mission is to help vulnerable children by
providing support to the child, the family and the community. It promotes the education
and nurturing of these children so they become responsible, successful and caring
individuals. The focus of grantmaking is on early childhood development.
To encourage meaningful and continuing public funding of early childhood development
research and programs, Mr. Stein is committed to educating the public about the
importance of these efforts. To this end, the Tikun Olam Foundation has funded a full
time journalist position at Southern California Public Radio, and has sponsored forums
for philanthropists, business people and civic leaders.

Mr. Stein was the “Annual Honoree” for the Union Station Homeless Services of
Pasadena, CA. He also received the “Spirit of Philanthropy Award” from the National
Association of Fundraising Professionals in Los Angeles, CA; and the “Saving The
World For Children Award” from the Children’s Bureau of Los Angeles, CA.
