Nonprofit announces new senior management team member to guide critical work for the organization
WASHINGTON — ZERO TO THREE, the country’s leading early childhood development nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life, this week welcomed Pia Valdivia to the organization as its new Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO). Valdivia succeeds Laura Shiflett, who served as the organization’s CFAO for nine years. Valdivia will lead the financial and administrative operations for the organization, including grant and contract administration, subcontracting and legal review, finance, office services and information technology.

Valdivia joins the organization from the Salzburg Global Seminar, where she served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She has also held the positions of Chief Financial Officer at Results for Development Institute, and Director of Finance and Administration at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Valdivia received her Executive M.B.A from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, her M.B.A. in Corporate and International Finance from the University of Miami, and her B.A.-M.A. in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Innsbruck. She also holds a certificate in forensic accounting from Georgetown University.
