Bridgitt Mitchell, EdD, is the Senior Director of Training and Quality for the National Center for Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL).
Dr. Mitchell oversees the training and technical assistance for the National Center for Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (NCECDTL). She brings to this role more than 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Her areas of passion and expertise include teacher training and preparation, social emotional development, and multicultural education.
She has served in diverse roles that include tenured faculty, Department Chair for Early Childhood Education, Assistant to the Secretary for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and Director of Early Education Department for a large public school district in Colorado. Dr. Mitchell has also published several book chapters with topics that include bullying and the business of education. She is committed to strengthening and building capacity within the early childhood system which is indicative of her service on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Council for the Accreditation of Early Learning Programs.
Dr. Mitchell holds a BA in African and African American Studies, MA in Human Development and Family Life and MBA from the University of Kansas. She also holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education and Adult Learning from Walden University.
