Cheryl Polk, PhD, is President of HighScope Educational Research Foundation in Ypsilanti, MI, and a Board Member of ZERO TO THREE.
Contributions to the Field
Dr. Polk is a noted leader in the child and family services field with a wealth of experience as a psychologist and civic volunteer. She has worked closely with children and families to promote healthy child development for more than 25 years. Through her leadership at the Lisa and John Pritzker Family Fund, the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, and as a commissioner of the San Francisco Children and Families Commission, Dr. Polk has developed and led major support for key early childhood programs.
Member of professional and community organizations including Warrior Women Against Poverty, and the Forum on Investing in Young Children Globally at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

Dr. Polk has received many citations, recognitions, and awards including the prestigious National Leadership Fellowship from the Kellogg Foundation. She was an appointed committee member on the recent Institute of Medicine and National Research Council’s Task Force on Transforming the Workforce for Children Birth Through Age 8: A Unifying Foundation.
