Dorinda Silver Williams
Dorinda Silver Williams, PhD, LCSW-C, ACSW, is the Director of Military Family Projects at ZERO TO THREE.
Dr. Williams is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong focus in infant mental health and a commitment to working with military and Veteran families. She is passionate about promoting strong parent-child attachments, building on family strengths, and fostering resilience in the context of trauma and loss. Through her work as a Family Advocacy Counselor, as well as through the New Parent Support Program, she has extensive experience supporting families experiencing, or at risk for, domestic violence. Dr. Williams has a strong background in early childhood parent education and home visitation. Through her work at ZERO TO THREE, Dr. Williams has developed print materials, authored children’s books, produced audio-conferences, created web-based content, provided consultation, developed and facilitated trainings, and spearheaded research initiatives, all focusing on the unique needs of families and their young children experiencing military-specific stressors and transitions. Dr. Williams has contributed to the creation of a Masters in Social Work (MSW) military specialization at the Catholic University of America—developing and teaching the University’s first military and Veteran families MSW course in 2012.
