Since 2016, ZERO TO THREE’s Critical Competencies and its professional development offerings have helped address the neglect of the infant-toddler workforce in our nation’s systems, and the need for specific competencies that include a focus on working with diverse and high-need populations. The Critical Competencies describe what educators can do to make the most of teacher-child interactions, to turn these moments into valuable learning opportunities that support infants’ and toddlers’ social-emotional, cognitive, and language and literacy development.

Listen in to ZERO TO THREE faculty as they reflect on the impact, explore lessons learned,  and discuss plans for new innovations for educators, trainers, coaches, and faculty.
