In this session participants will discuss and practice a variety of IECMH consultation/coaching strategies to support the overall development of young children.

Early childhood professionals support all areas of development through their interactions with very young children and families. One approach to preventing and addressing challenging behaviors, as well as promoting social and emotional health, is Infant-Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) consultation/coaching. Research indicates that IECMH consultation has positive effects on outcomes for very young children. In addition, research shows that when early childhood staff receive support through consultation services they are more confident in their abilities to work with children that exhibit challenging behaviors. In this session participants will discuss and practice a variety of IECMH consultation/coaching strategies to support the overall development of young children.
