ZERO TO THREE Launches the “Think Babies” Campaign to Make the Potential of Every Baby Our National Priority

We want our elected leaders to know what you know: the future begins with babies. And we need your help to tell them!

When striving for a strong America, excellent students, innovative technologies, a more productive workforce, and a booming economy, Congress should be thinking about babies.

You know the science. Our brains grow fastest between the ages of 0-3, forming almost a million new neural connections every second. When babies have nurturing relationships, early learning experiences and good nutrition, those neural connections are stimulated and strengthened, laying a strong foundation for the rest of their lives. When babies don’t get what their growing brains need to thrive, they don’t develop as they should. This leads to poor life-long developmental, educational, social, and health challenges. As babies’ foundations go–strong or fragile–so goes our nation.

That’s why ZERO TO THREE is proud to announce Think Babies. The campaign, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, aims to make the potential of every baby our national priority.

We need to give parents the time to bond with their babies in the earliest months when so much of their development is at stake. We need to make sure parents have the information they want and need to best nurture and nourish their babies. And we need to make sure every family has access to quality, affordable child care where babies are truly cared for. These are the ingredients to give babies enriching early experiences, promote good mental health from the start, and create a better future for our nation.

Think Babies will bring national attention to what babies and families need to thrive–and the implications for the country. Be part of the team that’s fighting for our future. Go to www.thinkbabies.org and use our thought generator to tell Congress why they need to #ThinkBabies.

Think Babies is just getting started. Throughout the new year, stay tuned for email updates on the campaign and exciting new opportunities to tell your Members of Congress why they need to #ThinkBabies. Together, we can help make sure all families have the resources and support they need to give their babies a strong start in life.
