Maine: Early Head Start Initiative
Learn how Maine builds on Early Head Start by extending the day and year of existing Head Start and EHS services in order to expand the number of children and families served.
Maine has two initiatives that build on Early Head Start. The Fund for a Healthy Maine provides money to existing Head Start and EHS programs to expand the number of children who receive full-day, full-year services. Additionally, Supplemental uses state general revenue funds to Head Start programs to add additional slots to programs, including EHS.
