ZERO TO THREE is pleased to present our Trainer Certification programs. These programs formally recognize trainers who are dedicated to supporting infants, toddlers, and their families, and prepared and approved to deliver ZERO TO THREE curricula.

ZERO TO THREE’s Trainer Certification programs:

  • Build on adult education standards and trainer approval systems
  • Advance trainers’ career options and ongoing professional development
  • Create a dynamic network of adult development peers across the nation and the globe
  • Increase capacity to offer, and quality of infant- and toddler-focused professional development
  • Provide learners with the confidence that they are receiving a high-quality learning experience

ZERO TO THREE Certified Trainers

ZERO TO THREE congratulates our inaugural classes of provisionally Certified Trainers: Critical Competencies in Ohio, Pennsylvania (pictured) and Arkansas!

We currently offer Trainer Certifications in the following programs:

There are two stages to ZERO TO THREE Trainer Certifications: (1) Provisional, and (2) Certification.

Stage 1: Provisional Certification

  • Be a current approved early childhood trainer in your home state or country, or meet specified standards as an adult educator
  • Successfully participate in the ZERO TO THREE Training‐of‐Trainers, including passing required knowledge assessments
  • Create or your individual profile on ZERO TO THREE’s Learning Center and complete the Provisional Certification application

Stage 2: Full Certification

  • Be a current Provisionally Certified ZERO TO THREE Trainer
  • Be a current approved trainer in your home state or country, or meet specified standards as an adult educator
  • Successfully deliver the curriculum specified since your Provisional Certification award date
  • Meet your peers and join at least one ZERO TO THREE trainer support event
  • Complete required clock hours of continuing education in the specified content since your Provisional Certification award date (total clock hours may include the ZERO TO THREE trainer support event)

  • Complete the ZERO TO THREE certification application.*

Maintaining Certification

Maintaining your ZERO TO THREE Trainer Certification is simple.

  • Renew with us annual to make sure you have access to updated materials and support
  • Maintain your status as a current approved trainer in your home state or country, or meet specified standards as an adult educator
  • Successfully deliver specified curriculum since your last Certification award date
  • Meet your peers and join at least one ZERO TO THREE trainer support event
  • Complete required clock hours of continuing education in the specified content since your Certification award date (total clock hours may include the ZERO TO THREE trainer support event)
