Last year, the inaugural State of Babies Yearbook: 2019 revealed that the state where a baby is born makes a big difference in their chance for a strong start in life. The Yearbook bridges the gap between science and policy with national and state-by-state data on the well-being of America’s babies. New data this year will look beyond averages to paint a clearer portrait of America’s babies by taking a deeper look at the more than half of the nation’s babies who are children of color, as well as those in low-income families and in urban or rural areas.
