Professional Development for Early Childhood Teachers and Caregivers, and Efforts to Learn about What Works

Presented by Emily Moiduddin, Jaime Thomas, and Susan Landry

Podcast: Listen on-the-go!

Across the nation, states and localities have been working hard to make ongoing improvements in their professional development systems to better support teachers and caregivers in their practice with young children. There are efforts to better integrate early childhood systems overall, and also to strengthen the professional development they offer teachers and caregivers. In this webinar, members of the Mathematica team—a research organization with a long history in early care and education— discuss these efforts and some of the work underway to evaluate and learn from the changes. They talk about support for both centers and home-based settings, and about how partnerships at both the program level and larger system are supporting professional development.
