Statement for the Record of Myra Jones-Taylor, Chief Policy Officer, ZERO TO THREE

On Tuesday, January 28, the House Ways & Means Committee will hold a legislative hearing focused on proposals that provide paid family leave or other means to support families. In submitted comments, Myra Jones Taylor, Chief Policy Officer at ZERO TO THREE, asks committee members to consider the details of the bills and remember the real and varied needs of working families. Paid leave legislation must cover both parental and medical leave, and benefit all working families. She offers a list of criteria defining a comprehensive and robust paid leave plan to meet the needs of our country’s babies and their families, and key questions for committee members to consider as they analyze proposals.
