ZERO TO THREE Elects Leading Public Health Expert to Board of Directors
ZERO TO THREE welcomes a new board member.
Washington, D.C. (Sept. 21, 2020) — ZERO TO THREE, the leading nonprofit dedicated to ensuring babies and toddlers have a strong start in life, announced this week the election of Dr. Lauren Smith to its Board of Directors.
“We are thrilled and honored to welcome Dr. Smith to our Board of Directors,” said Dr. Paul Spicer, Board President of ZERO TO THREE. “She is a true expert when it comes to pediatrics and early childhood public health, and her experience is invaluable when it comes to improving the lives of babies and toddlers. We look forward to her expertise and guidance elevating our work in the years to come.”
Dr. Lauren Smith is the co-CEO of FSG, one of the world’s leading social impact consulting firms. In her position, she helps to drive the vision and growth of the firm to advance its mission of achieving equitable social impact at scale. Dr. Smith has published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature on health equity and the implication of social policies on child and family wellbeing. She has also served on numerous national and state advisory committees focused on public health and health care. Dr. Smith holds a B.A. with honors in biology from Harvard College, an M.D. from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, and an M.P.H. from University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. She completed her pediatrics residency and chief residency at Children’s Hospital Boston and her general pediatrics fellowship at Boston Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics.
