Learn More About #KidsAreEssential

Don't let our struggles now become their struggles later.

Our country is at a tipping point, and our children’s futures are at stake. As the nation attempts to recover and rebuild from COVID-19, we must address the needs of children and their families—particularly in the prenatal to three period—or we risk setting back an entire generation of children. That is why we are launching #KidsAreEssential.

In partnership with Caring Across Generations, Center for Community Change, Children’s Defense Fund, Council for a Strong America, Education Trust, Food Research and Action Center, MomsRising, National Collaborative for Infants & Toddlers, National Women’s Law Center, UnidosUS, and over 120 other organizations, ZERO TO THREE is calling on our leaders to invest in children and families as early as possible and address the economic, health, and racial disparities exacerbated by the pandemic.

Child development doesn’t stop when crises happen. We can’t stop either. We must ensure that our nation is equipped to support children and their families with the critical resources they need to survive the pandemic and thrive in the years beyond it. That includes supports for child care, economic security, paid leave, food security, housing security, maternal and child health, and mental health.

This is our opportunity to shape the future of millions of families - and the future of our country. Let’s recognize young children as our greatest resource and treat them as our highest priority. Are you ready? Join us at KidsAreEssential.org.
