All professionals who work with traumatized children and families in the child welfare system are committed to doing work that is difficult but also rewarding in making a difference in the lives of young children and families. Every day, there will be new situations to address with young children and families that is an opportunity for improved relationships and life situations. While vicarious traumatization and compassion fatigue are ongoing issues for those who do this work, it has only been intensified by the continual uncertainties and adversities as a result of COVID-19. This webinar presents an overview of these issues and addresses prevention strategies including the importance of self-care.
