It’s Never Too Early for STEM

Supporting Early Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Skills with Infants, Toddlers, and their Families.

From their earliest moments, babies use all of their senses to take in the world around them, form hypotheses, make predictions, and begin to understand the interrelatedness of people and objects. Essentially, they are born scientists!

Which is why it is so important that early childhood educators recognize and understand the value of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) activities for infants and toddlers. By helping young children build the foundation for these skills early, they can provide children with the tools they need to be successful in school and in life.

This interactive, 3-lesson course offers educators and caregivers an opportunity to learn more about STEM concepts and skills that emerge in early childhood, and discuss and practice strategies to engage and excite children’s thinking about science, technology, engineering, and math. This course explains key ideas about STEM and presents teaching strategies and concrete examples of how to facilitate STEM learning with very young children.
