ZERO TO THREE Announces Candace Winkler as New Chief Development and Strategy Officer

ZERO TO THREE welcomes Candace Winkler.

Washington, D.C., September 1, 2021 – ZERO TO THREE, the nation’s leading early childhood development nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life, welcomes Candace Winkler to the organization as its new Chief Development and Strategy Officer. In this role, Winkler will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and provide the strategic vision and collaborative leadership to plan and execute an effective and comprehensive fund development program for the organization.

“Candace is a passionate, innovative leader who has spent more than 25 years advocating on behalf of women and young children. We are thrilled to have her join the team and look forward to working together to expand our future opportunities for impact,” said Matthew Melmed, Executive Director of ZERO TO THREE.

Winkler joins the organization from the Berkshire United Way in Massachusetts, where she served as President and CEO. She began her career working for and then leading Alaska’s Child Care Resource and Referral network, where she spearheaded a major reorganization of three nonprofits into one statewide network. She went on to lead the Alaska Community Foundation, and then to serve as CEO of the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. Winkler holds an MPA and MSW from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
