Andria Goss

Project Director, Illinois Department of Children and Family/Erikson Institute

Andria Goss, MSW, is a ZERO TO THREE Fellow. She is currently the Project Director at Illinois Department of Children and Family/Erikson Institute.

Ms. Goss has used her voice to advocate for young children and families involved in the child welfare system for more than 20 years. Currently, she provides leadership for a joint project with Erikson Institute and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. In this role, Ms. Goss influences both practice and policy in support of young children who have experienced abuse and or neglect. Previous experience includes providing direct service to families involved in child welfare, including teen mothers and their babies. She has also worked as a clinician providing therapy services to both young children and adolescents. Ms. Goss is keenly interested in the intergenerational transmissions of trauma, poverty, and low academic achievement that continue to consume parents who inconsistently or never experienced good enough parenting. She seeks to honor each client’s experience while learning to implement macro-level policy and practice change in a system that is in dire need. Ms. Goss is a graduate of Erikson Institute’s Child Development Program and Loyola University Chicago’s School of Social Work.
