Hoa Nguyen, MA, is a ZERO TO THREE Fellow. She is a practiced professional in child nutrition, particularly infant and young child feeding.
She worked for Save the Children International from 2009 to 2013 as a project manager in Alive and Thrive program to improve nutrition status for children under 2 years old in Vietnam. She has also served varied national and international organizations in the field of children and women’s development such as No Ordinary Journey Foundation (Canada-Vietnam, 2013–2014), Women’s Environment and Development Organization (USA, 2007), and Institute for Family and Gender Studies (Vietnam, 2002–2006). In all positions, she has demonstrated strong leadership and ceaseless commitment to helping women and children to achieve their full potentials and well-being. At present, Hoa is joining a doctorate program at Department of Health Promotion, Education and Behavior, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina to acquire in-depth academic knowledge and skills in nutrition, health promotion, and education. She wants this acquisition to enhance and bring her hands-on experience to new levels so that she can make substantial contribution to ameliorate child nutrition in the region and around the world. Her ambition is to become a pioneer in connecting available global and local resources to inform, inspire, and encourage all stakeholders to take action for women’s and child health. On accepting the 2014–16 ZERO TO THREE Fellowship, she’s excited and ready for new experiences such as joining other fellows to realize the passion of building responsive social structure for the well-being of infants, toddlers, and their families.
