Tammy Mann, PhD, is President and CEO for The Campagna Center and is Vice President of the Board of Directors of ZERO TO THREE.

Contributions to the Field

Dr. Tammy Mann has been involved in work at the national, state, and local levels for 30 years. Her work has focused on addressing the needs of children and families, especially those living in economically and socially challenged environments. A practitioner at heart, Dr. Mann has had a longstanding interest in effectively translating research to practice. She currently leads an organization devoted to providing cradle to career education and social development services to more than 2,000 children, teens and adults in Alexandria. Prior to her work at The Campagna Center, she served as Executive Director of the Frederick Patterson Research Institute and as Deputy Executive Director at ZERO TO THREE.

Recent Honors/Awards/Recognition/Books Published

Dr. Mann has authored and co-authored a variety of articles, monographs and edited books including, Child Psychology and Mental Health: Cultural and Ethno-Racial Perspectives: Volume 1: African American Children’s Mental Health: Development and Context & Volume 2: African American Children’s Mental Health: Prevention, Intervention and Social Policy. She served as a past president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children as a former Chair of the Collaborative Commission on Children Youth and Families. A former consulting editor for Young Children, she has also held appointments as a Public Policy Fellow with the American Psychological and adjunct/affiliate appointments at Howard University and George Mason University, respectively. In 2020, she was named Business Leader of the Year by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
