Implementing the Early Childhood Development Continuum of Care in Community Health Centers
This webinar focuses on how community health centers can implement or expand the Early Childhood Development Continuum of Care.
In this webinar, Dr. Sara del Campo de Gonzalez, MD, FAAP, general pediatrician at Baylor College of Medicine, Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, provided strategies for community health centers to implement the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Continuum of Care for children ages 0-5. Dr. David Willis, MD, FAAP, and Kay Johnson, MPH, MEd, were discussants.
The webinar included field stories on implementing the care continuum, including for development health promotion and prevention, screening and surveillance, linkage and care coordination for appropriate follow-up, and consultation or brief intervention.
The webinar was presented for community health centers that are already implementing the continuum of working to expand their implementation. The objectives for community health centers are to:
- Summarize each stage of the ECD Continuum of Care, differentiating the components of each stage and applying community health center perspectives.
- Design strategies for integrating components of the continuum into their own community health center framework.
