Virtual Event: Centering Culture – IECMH Guiding Principles in Practice

Families are becoming increasingly multicultural.

Cultural diversity is growing in most societies. Families are becoming increasingly multicultural.

People from the same race may differ in ethnicity, religion, or socioeconomic status. Family members may have different demographic characteristics. Individuals often see themselves as having several identities simultaneously. As IECMH professionals, we must consider the dynamic nature of cultures as well as the individual family members’ complex adaptations. But how do we honor this and center cultural considerations in our practices, both in who and how we are, and in what we do? Listen in as Noelle and Dr. Meyleen Velasquez discuss these questions and more.
