The Boy Crisis as an Infant Mental Health Issue

Dr. Paul Golding looks at unique boy vulnerabilities and the infant mental health roots of the “boy crisis.” This event explores some of the reasons why boys in late childhood and early adolescence are predominating in statistics about school failure, psychopathologies, and conduct disorders, and considers ways in which early caregiving inadequacies might affect their development.

Paul Golding, Ph.D., is Executive Director of the Santa Fe Boys Educational Foundation. Dr. Golding founded the Santa Fe Boys Educational Foundation in 2013 after studying and writing about the challenges facing boys for more than 15 years. He lectures widely on the need to frame this crisis as, in part, an infant mental health issue.
