In Arkansas, partners in the Transforming Pediatrics for Early Childhood (TPEC) program are integrating the HealthySteps model into five primary care clinics across the state. Led by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), this work is helping care teams identify developmental concerns earlier, connect children with appropriate services, and provide more comprehensive support to families during well-child visits.
In this video, UAMS team members also share firsthand stories of how HealthySteps is making a difference for children and families in Arkansas. From helping a family access critical services during a time of crisis to building the kind of trust that inspires parents to recommend care to others, their experiences highlight the value of family-centered, relationship-based pediatric care.
Together, these efforts are creating more welcoming and supportive care environments where children can build strong foundations for healthy development.
