Cynthia Turrietta, LICSW has designed and implemented culturally responsive, community-based programs for families during pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period. She is passionate about equitable access to care and reproductive justice, rooted in her experience as a daughter of Mexican immigrants. As a bilingual professional, she helps ensure comprehensive support for diverse communities.
She also advocates for systemic changes and policies related to pregnant and birthing people, as well as infants and toddlers. She has served on community advisory committees focused on equitable access to developmental screenings and supported community-designed approaches for home-based services. She also works to expand pathways for providers of color to enter, sustain and thrive in their careers. Her training approach is based on the development of content that centers reflective practice, healing, and wholeness.
Turrietta holds a bachelor’s degree in human services from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s in social work from California State University, Long Beach
