Jayley Ann Janssen

Director of Research and Evaluation, Indigo Cultural Center

Jayley Ann Janssen, PhD, is director of the Institute for Child Development Research and Social Change at Indigo Cultural Center, where she leads community-based participatory action research and evaluation.

Dr. Janssen has led national, state and local research and evaluation focused on strengthening the systems that support infants, young children and families, particularly infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMHC). She partners with practitioners, organizations and communities to translate research into improvements in programs, policies and practice through relationship-based, culturally responsive approaches.

Her research examines the sustainability of the IECMHC workforce, including well-being, reflective practices and the evolving role of consultants. She is interested in how organizational conditions, systems-level supports and broader sociopolitical realities shape workforce sustainability and effectiveness.
