Jonathon Gonzales Headshot 2024

Jonathon Gonzales

The Service Members of our nation are supported by their families, as every child and family member play a role in their service. It’s our responsibility to care for and uplift the little ones who are a part of our military community.

What the Mission means to Jonathon

Collectively, we possess the ability to alter the course of development for infants and toddlers and their families; Zero to Three represents, promotes and advances those endeavors.

Professional Background

Jonathon serves in the Arizona Army National Guard as a logistics officer and previously held the position of State Family Program Director, where he oversaw the Family Assistance Centers, Family Program staff, Work for Warriors, Personal Financial Counselors, ADAPT parenting education, and Child and Youth programs. His previous role was as the Family and Health Administrator at the Catholic Charities Community Services Westside Head Start Program.

In the field of early education, Jonathon was the State Director of the Arizona Head Start Association, focusing on strengthening member agencies and partners that enhance the lives of young children and families and advocating for the diverse Head Start/Early Head Start community through policy work, collaboration, and education. As a former Head Start parent, he played a pivotal role as the inaugural Regional Director for the South Phoenix Regional Partnership Council with First Things First, leading the council through various processes, including needs assessments, community capacity building and strategic planning. His experience also includes serving as the Director of Community Outreach for Children’s Action Alliance and as a Prevention Specialist with the Maricopa County Tobacco Education and Prevention Program. Jonathon is an alumnus of Arizona State University and Webster University.

Future Vision

My future vision is that Zero to Three and Military Family Projects continues to drive innovative approaches to supporting Service Members and their children, and that we can look at the breadth and scope of services and supports and know that we have acted in the best interest of our infants and toddlers.
