Melissa Villarreal is a clinical psychologist and deputy clinical director at Neurodesarrollo Quito in Ecuador, where she leads diagnostic evaluations and intervention planning for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions and complex mental health needs. Her clinical work includes providing evidence-based psychological interventions and collaborating with families, schools, psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams.
Villarreal has participated in multidisciplinary outreach initiatives that provide comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations for children in rural regions of Ecuador, helping connect families with diagnostic services and appropriate interventions where specialized care is often unavailable.
Villarreal earned a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology with academic distinction from the
Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. She has advanced training in autism assessment and has completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as well as additional training in contemporary third-wave behavioral approaches.
