Munirah Fulani is a registered nurse and pediatric care consultant at Maxim Healthcare Services, where she supports medically complex children as they transition from hospital to home. She works with physicians, case managers and families to coordinate safe, family-centered care, equip caregivers to manage complex medical needs and improve continuity of care.
Previously, as a NICU nurse at VCU Health System, Fulani implemented discharge education protocols that reduced neonatal infection rates and readmissions. In pediatric home health, she redesigned care workflows to reduce adverse events and strengthen caregiver safety, and she developed the Building Bonds Toolkit, an attachment-based, trauma-informed resource for families navigating medical complexity. She also provides pro bono consulting to families of medically complex infants transitioning from hospital to home.
Fulani holds dual bachelor’s degrees in nursing and psychology and a master’s in product innovation, all from Virginia Commonwealth University.
