Natan Vega Potler, MD, MS, is a child psychiatrist-scientist who provides psychotherapy and medication management for children, adolescents and families and conducts mental health services research. He is a clinical assistant professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and medical director of Child and Family Services at Woodhull Medical Center, where he leads early childhood and family-focused mental health services.
Dr. Vega Potler’s clinical and research interests include family-focused trauma interventions, infant and early childhood mental health and immigrant child and family mental health. He has received research funding related to immigrant youth and family mental health and has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, JAMA Network Open and Psychiatric Services.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science from Swarthmore College, a master’s degree in clinical investigation from NYU and a medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry training and postdoctoral research fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
