Peter Barasa is a development practitioner and community leader from Uganda with more than 10 years of experience in project management, child development, community mobilization and organizational leadership. He is project director of the Vumgbala Child Development Center, a compassion-assisted program that partners with families, churches and communities to improve the well-being of children and young people.
Barasa has led initiatives in education, child protection, livelihoods, health promotion and community capacity strengthening. He has coordinated multidisciplinary teams, managed donor-funded projects and built partnerships that have expanded access to services for vulnerable children and families.
Barasa holds a master’s degree in public administration and management from Gulu University, a postgraduate diploma in project planning and management, a bachelor’s degree in social work and social administration from Uganda Christian University and a diploma in secondary education from Kyambogo University.
