Shin Yee Tan, MS, LCSW, is a ZERO TO THREE Fellow. She is an Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant at Oaklawn Psychiatric Center, Inc.

Ms. Shin Yee Tan, MS, LCSW, is an Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant who works with The SOURCE, a System-of-Care for Elkhart County, Indiana under the parent organization, Oaklawn Psychiatric Center, a community mental health center. Ms. Tan supports infant and early childhood providers in the area to increase their capacity in forming a trauma-informed care organizational culture and increasing family advocacy efforts.

Through its two Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Expansion Grants, The SOURCE has developed infrastructures and a network of systems to support county-wide efforts in children’s mental health from birth. As the first Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant for the county, Ms. Tan developed the early childhood mental health program from conception to its present capacity of expanding to cohort learning collaboratives.

Ms. Tan has worked in various mental health settings with maintaining her steady focus on children and adolescents from community-based care facilitation to residential treatment settings. Prior to her current role as a consultant role, Ms. Tan was a supervisor for a high-fidelity wraparound team where she gained perspective of nothing about the family without the family.

Ms. Tan received her Master of Science in Child Development from Erikson Institute, Chicago and her Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She is an endorsed Infant Family Associate through Infancy Onward IN. Ms. Tan received the Otto Klaasen Clinical Excellence Award from Oaklawn in 2016 and the Jessica McCarthy Award for Excellence in Wraparound from Indiana Systems of Care in 2018.
