As a neurodevelopmental and behavioral pediatric nurse practitioner at the University of Virginia Children’s Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics program. , Stephanie McNerney MSN, RN, CPNP-PC, PHNL is deeply committed to assessing and caring for infants, toddlers and youth at high risk of long-term neurodevelopmental impairment and children with known neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic conditions or acquired disabilities. She provides assessment, consultation and management and collaborates in developing comprehensive treatment plans.
McNerney is the founder and medical director of the University of Virginia’s Department of Pediatrics’ Village Care Program, where she co-created a flagship comprehensive evaluation program for infants and children involved in the child welfare continuum. In addition, she serves as interdisciplinary lead of UVA Health Children’s Early Development Clinic and nurse practitioner lead of the UVA Department of Pediatrics’ International Child Development Clinic.
She holds a master’s in nursing from the University of Virginia in primary pediatric care and public health nursing leadership. She previously worked in the pediatrics departments of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California.
