Developing a highly competent workforce for the infant–family field has been a hallmark of ZERO TO THREE’s mission to promote the health and development of infants and toddlers. It’s important to recognize that those who work with infants, toddlers, and their families span a variety of program and service settings, professional disciplines, and roles. Our unique multidisciplinary approach to understanding child development is reflected in the articles in this issue of Zero to Three which explore a variety of approaches, perspectives, and challenges to building a competent early childhood workforce.
